TotalMD’s Wound Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic wounds. Our team of experienced wound care specialists are committed to helping you heal and improve your quality of life. Our center is staffed with a team of board-certified physicians all dedicated to wound healing, treating skin ulcers, traumatic wounds, burns, and more.
The first step in wound care is to properly clean and dress the wound to prevent infection and promote healing. This may involve the use of specialized dressings, ointments, and topical antibiotics. For deeper wounds, wound debridement may be necessary to remove damaged tissue and promote healing. Additional therapies may be needed for chronic wounds or non-healing wounds. This may include the use of compression therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy. These treatments promote healing and reduce the risk of infection.
